Help Me Grow (HMG) is Ohio’s birth to 3 system that provides state and federal funds to county Family and Children First Councils to be used in conjunction with state, local and other federal funds to implement and maintain a coordinated, community-based infrastructure that promotes trans-disciplinary, family-centered services for expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers and their families. The Ohio Department of Health, Bureau of Early Intervention Services (BEIS) is the lead agency administering HMG program in Ohio.
HMG is administered through 88 county-level offices throughout the state. Through the 88 counties, children and families in every county in Ohio can access Early Intervention services. Anyone can refer a child to HMG. County boards of DODD often play integral role in the county HMG system.
BEIS staff who administer the HMG program do so with the assistance of state partners from the Ohio Family and Children First Council, Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities and the Family Information Network (FIN) of Ohio.
